Charlie lived his childhood in a family environment, learning about his culture,
traditions, the noongar language and the many stories passed down from
the elders of the area, his grand parents, mother and father.
His Grandfather took a shine to Charlie and the many times they spent together, Grandfather shared his wood carving skills with Charlie, passing on his knowledge, techniques and skills on the art of creating a piece of branch or wood into art.

Being self taught over the many years, he was inspired by family members
to pursue his talent, which he then spent time watching now famous artists
‘Reynold Hart’ and ‘Lance Chadd, observing their techniques and individual styles,
to create his own style and ways with the brush.

Charlie now lives to be creative through his art, enjoys dot painting where he is a perfectionist with his dots. He loves painting wildlife animals and exploring the bushland of the area, where he gathers items such as tree branches, sticks etc, to take home and carve into art, especially walking sticks.

Carving didgeridoos is a favourite of Charlies, especially the unique trees found
up north with the bells at the base, a classic one being the double ender with
the 2 snakes carved into the didge and raised onto the wood and painted.
“I incorporate designs into my artwork that comes from my dreaming”
Truly a masterpiece.

Charlie can paint any item, even a car, the ford Falcon is a prize in itself.
